What does standard installation mean?
A standard back-to-back installation refers to a specific type of installation for split system heat pumps or air conditioning units. The two main components are the following:
- Indoor Unit: A wall-mounted indoor unit (also known as the head unit) installed inside the room.
- Outdoor Unit: An outdoor compressor unit located directly opposite the indoor unit. The outdoor unit is mounted on a hard leveled surface outside the building.
The indoor and outdoor units are then placed directly behind each other on a single-story dwelling. This arrangement minimises the distance between them, making installation straightforward and cost effective for customers. If you need to remove your old unit. A standard back-to-back installation includes:
- A site visit to your property
- Installation by a professional heat pump installer
- Up to 3 meters of pipework and trunking
- Up to 10 meters of electrical cabling and electrical isolator (waterproof)
- Outdoor unit placed on a hard level surface (pavers will be provided if necessary)
- MCB on switch board
- Electrical Compliance Certificate
- Manufacturer’s Warranty

Five Stars!! Due to the layout of the kitchen, I needed a unique solution for adding additional ventilation, ducted to the outside through the ceiling cavity. I was really impressed with Paul and his team . He arrived on time , was polite and friendly and very professional . He really blew me away with his workmanship . My heat pump looks brand new ,an feels brand new,even after 7 years old. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a Heat-pump service . But he does so much more my HRV filter needs replacing soon and its so much cheaper than getting HRV people in to do it,so why wouldn`t anyone get Paul and his team over,right before summer comes.
