Heat Pump Installation in Hamilton
We install new heat pumps and air conditioning in homes and commercial buildings. Before we quote, we check the room size, insulation and where the outdoor unit can go, and ask how you use the space. Then we recommend a unit sized to heat it properly through a Waikato winter and cool it in summer.
A typical single high-wall installation takes up to half a day. Ducted systems usually take two days for a whole home solution.
Systems we install:
- High-Wall and Cassette Heat Pumps
- Ducted heat pump systems
- Floor console heat pumps
- Under-ceiling systems
- Bulkhead and floor-ducted systems
- Air curtains
Installed prices start from $1900 incl. GST. See our current heat pump deals or browse the heat pumps we supply.
Heat pump servicing and deep cleans
We recommend servicing a heat pump once a year in a home and every six months in a commercial building. Regular servicing keeps it running efficiently and catches problems before they turn into repairs.
A standard service includes:
- cleaning the filters, coils, ducts and drain lines on the indoor and outdoor units
- checking refrigerant levels
- checking that electrical connections are secure
- testing heating and cooling performance
A deep clean adds a disinfecting clean of the coil and filters with Simple Green Air-Con Cleaner, a check of the fan wheel and motor, an outdoor unit wash, pressure and leak checks, and before-and-after temperature readings.
Heat Pump Repairs
Get your heat pump checked if it isn’t heating or cooling properly, makes unusual noises, smells bad, switches on and off often, shows an error code, or your power bill jumps for no clear reason.
Our technicians find the fault, explain what’s wrong in plain terms, and quote the repair before starting. We can usually get to you within 2 – 3 days.
Home Ventilation Systems
A home ventilation system brings in filtered fresh air and pushes out damp, stale air. That reduces condensation, mould and musty smells, which are common in Waikato homes over winter.
We install:
- Positive-pressure systems, such as SmartVent and HomeVent, which draw drier air from the roof space and filter it into the house.
- Heat recovery ventilation (HRV/ERV), such as the Mitsubishi Electric Lossnay. It swaps stale air for fresh outdoor air and keeps most of the heat, which suits well-insulated and newer homes.
- Extract fans for kitchens, bathrooms and laundries.
We’ll recommend the type that suits your house and budget. Compare our ventilation systems.
Ventilation filter replacement and servicing
SmartVent and HRV systems need regular filter changes to keep the air clean and the system efficient:
F7 filters, which catch most dust and allergens: replace once a year.
Carbon and HEPA filters, for odours and allergens: replace every six months.
Most systems show an alert when a filter is due. When we replace filters, we make sure they seal properly so no air gets past them unfiltered, and we check the ducting and fans for good airflow.
Upgrades, zone control and Healthy Homes
We upgrade existing systems to make them more comfortable and cheaper to run. That includes replacing older heat pumps, adding zone control to ducted systems so you heat only the rooms you’re using, adding WiFi control, and relocating indoor or outdoor units.
For landlords, we install heat pumps sized to the Healthy Homes heating standard and ventilation for rental properties.
