- Heat Recovery Core: As this warm, stale air is expelled, it passes through a heat exchanger (the heat recovery core) within the system. This core is designed to transfer heat without mixing the outgoing stale air with the incoming fresh air.
- Fresh Air Intake: Simultaneously, fresh, cooler air from outside is drawn into the system and passes through the same heat recovery core.
- Heat Transfer: The heat from the outgoing stale air is transferred to the incoming fresh air via the heat exchanger. This process pre-warms or pre-cools the incoming air depending on the season.
